Dr. Smith was born and raised in Macon, GA. He is a graduate of Emory University with a B.A. in history. He completed his medical degree, internship and residency from the Medical College of Georgia. Following this he performed a two year fellowship at the University of Alabama Comprehensive Cancer Center in Birmingham. Dr. Smith is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He has been in private practice in Macon since 1977. Dr. Smith is the Medical Director of Hospice of Central Georgia and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Mercer University School of Medicine.

He and his wife, Sanna, have five children.

Dr. Schnell was born in Cleveland Ohio, and grew up in Parma, Ohio. He is a magna cum laude graduate of the College of the Holy Cross with a B.A. in Biology. He completed medical school school at Case Western Reserve University. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. Dr. Schnell entered practice in Macon in 1983. He serves as an Assiatant Proffessor at the Mercer University School of Medicine and is principle investigator in clincal trails. He is currently the President of the Georgia Association of Clinical Oncologist.

He and his wife, Kim, have three children.

Dr. Deaton was born and raised in Columbus, GA. He graduated magana cum laude from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Chemistry. He completed medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. His internship and residency was completed at Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut. He served in the U.S. Air Force for a four year period. Following this service he preformed a three year fellowship in hematology/medical oncology at Boston Universtiy in Massachusetts. Dr. Deaton is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. He is Assistant Professor at the Mercer University School of Medicine.

Dr. Deaton resides in Macon with his wife Stella Tsai, M.D.

Dr. Hendricks was born in Jacksonville, FL. She graduated from The Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Chemistry in 1990. In 1995 she graduated from the Medical College of Geogia. She completed her internship, residency and fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia in 2000. Dr.Hendricks is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. She joined the practice in August 2001.

She resides in Macon with her husband, Mark Hendricks, M.D.

Bruce T. Burns was born in Atlanta, GA. He Graduated from The University of Georgia with a B.S. in Microbiology in 1991. In 1997 he graduated from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon. Dr. Burns completed his residency at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama in 2000. He finished his fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta in 2003. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hematology and Oncology. He, his wife and three children currently reside in Macon.

Dr. Al-Hajj was born in Amman, Jordan. He graduated from the University of Jordan with a BS in Medicine and Surgery. He Attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA from June 2001 – July 2007. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology. He joined our practice in October 2007. He currently resides with his wife, Abeer Abouyabis, M.D., and children in Warner Robins.
